Aminu Suleman Takuma is a distinguished and visionary public sector leader with over two decades of dedicated service in investment promotion, industrial development, and economic policy. Born on June 18th, 1964, in Kaduna, Nigeria, he hails from Takuma in the Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, a heritage that deeply informs his commitment to the region’s progress. He is a family man, married to Salamatu Abdulkadir, and together they are blessed with five children.

Mr. Takuma’s illustrious career is marked by a proven ability to drive large-scale economic transformation. He currently serves as the Honorable Commissioner for the Ministry of Investment for the Government of Niger State, a role he has held since 2021. In this capacity, he is the chief architect and Team Lead for one of the state’s most ambitious projects: the Niger State Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ). This $100M+ initiative, co-funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and COVEC, is establishing a 252,500-hectare hub to integrate key agricultural value chains, including rice, cassava, dairy, and livestock. Under his leadership, the project has already attracted over $50M in agribusiness investments through the design of investor-friendly policies.

Prior to his commissioner role, Mr. Takuma built a formidable reputation over 22 years at the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), culminating in the position of Acting Director of the States Coordination Department. His tenure at NIPC was defined by strategic breakthroughs, including securing over $200M in investments for the LAKAJI Corridor Initiative under the USAID/NEXTT project. He pioneered the DFID/GEMS3-backed Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS), a framework that certified 12 states as “investment-ready,” and played a key role in the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission.

His expertise is globally recognized, with certifications as a COMFAR III Expert from UNIDO and training in the World Bank’s ECOWAS Investment Policy Framework. He has been a guest speaker at the Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai and serves as an advisor to the ECOWAS Agribusiness Investment Forum. A Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICAN), Mr. Takuma holds an M.Sc. in International Affairs & Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a B.Sc. in Operations Research from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
