Wumi Oluwadare
Wumi Oluwadare is a distinguished Nigerian fashion professional, creative industry leader, and standards expert with decades of impactful contribution to the textile, garment, and creative economy. A graduate of Insurance from the University of Lagos, she is the Founder and Head Designer of Wumi O’ and W-Art & Design Co. Ltd, established in 2012 to extend her work beyond fashion design into consultancy, entrepreneurship development, and textile and garment training.
Through the W-Art & Design Textile and Fashion Academy, founded in 2014, Wumi has trained hundreds of youths—particularly women and girls—in entrepreneurship, textile production, garment and bag making, and creative crafts, contributing significantly to job creation and skills development in Nigeria. A certified Master Trainer in industrial garment
making, she has collaborated with institutions such as the National Council for Arts and Culture, National Directorate of Employment, NEPC, and Yaba College of Technology.
Wumi has served as National Secretary and Vice President of FADAN, immediate past 2nd Vice Chairman of NASME Lagos, and currently represents Nigeria as a technical expert on ARSO, leading the development of an African Size Chart for ready-to-wear garments and footwear. Her international engagements include curating African showcases at Miami Fashion Week and facilitating export, AGOA, and creative economy seminars across Africa.
At the WIEG Investment Summit, Wumi brings deep expertise in creative industry value chains, standards, sustainable fashion, SME development, and women-led enterprise growth, aligning fashion and culture with investment, trade, and inclusive economic transformation.
